Hello [NAME],

It’s that time of the year again, but let me start by thanking all the families that gave to my mission trip to Nicaragua. Between what CPYL and you gave, we were able to set up and equip 2 full teams in San Deronimo and supply a lot of other kids with equipment in several other barrios. When the children received a t-shirt and glove it was like Christmas morning. Only by your donations did you make this happen.

This is my 3rd year to help with this sport’s mission team and I’m relying on your generosity one more time. This year our plans are to stay in Paradise, Nicaragua the entire time. In the mornings we will build homes and in the afternoon we will have the sports camp for kids of all ages. I’m asking you to donate any sports equipment that your child has outgrown or doesn’t use. I would say that 90% of the kids in paradise wear either flip-flops or nothing at all so, this year we will be collecting shoes of all sizes and that are in good condition. The drop off spot is in the same place as last year, behind the concession stand, in the green bin.  I will be picking up the equipment from now until July 1; I leave for the mission trip on July 11.

The director for Chosen Children Ministries, Wallace Nix, was very surprised and appreciative of all the uniforms and equipment that were furnished. You can learn more about this ministry at www.chosenchildrenministries.org/

In the first paragraph I mentioned that we are going to Paradise, well it’s Paradise in name only.  This barrio has the greatest need of all the places we visited.  Paradise is about 5 miles from a paved road and the last half-mile was so muddy it was impassable for our bus, so we had to walk. This barrio has no electricity or running water, so the need is great.

Your continued support is greatly appreciated. Photos of Paradise are posted at https://www.cpyl.org/gallery/category/10.html
